Dark Dark Materials- For Philip Pullman

Dark Materials
For Philip Pullman

Philip Pullman’s Lyra identified
the soul or daemon amputated
from the mentally manipulated.

A magnificent heroine fighting
psychically challenged accepted norms,
to restore the pursuit of happiness.

Not all the happiness of the fairground
carousel wheeling, circling around
in a whirl of mindless waltzing pleasure.

But the serene contented consciousness
that eternal happiness is the
result of a life lived in Godly love.

Deus ex-machina battling the flood
of iniquity. Enduring love
heralding the arrival of the dove.

Spiritual faith in the only true God
devoid of religious piety;
uncovers potential divinity.
